MISSION & PURPOSE.
STOAN Inc. stands for Starting Over Anew and is an established 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. STOAN was formed as a vehicle of support for those needing assistance starting over due to loss of loved ones, divorce, displacement, etc.
After enduring traumatic circumstances such as these, the need for a helping hand to reach out and offer practical, mental and emotional help can be a monumental shift to move into a thriving future. It can be the difference in sinking or swimming through the tides of our trauma and stress. At STOAN Inc., we strive to be that rock that you can hold onto, the one that grounds you until you are ready to redirect and start over new, and fortified. Our personnel are dedicated to meet individuals where they are and assist in getting a fresh start.
Everyone’s beliefs are respected and no specific religious or philosophical ideology is shared. STOAN welcomes participants of all ages and races.
Twice widowed, Executive Director Renea Smith, founded STOAN. After experiencing first-hand the struggles of grief and starting over while supporting a family on her on. Starting over was no easy task for her, having to rebuild her life with hopes and prayers that her family would succeed. Renea is now focused on assisting those in need by meeting each person where he/she is. Relying on prayer and God’s guidance, support is given to live new lives abundantly.

Board of Directors
It takes a team from various specialties in order for STOAN to properly serve people. Each member of the board of directors brings a different perspective and is integral to the implementation and retention of the services and resources that STOAN provides. Board members volunteer their time to the cause and help fundraise. They truly have a heart of helping people to start over anew.
